Hi! 

I have developed an art theme about identity (maybe coming of age). I have started creating my first piece which is a series of mask depicting emotions I feel I need to wear in public around certain people. I was wondering if you had any ideas for more art pieces down the line?

There's lots you can do with identity, it's just more along the lines of what YOU want to do. You can do personal identity (who you are, what makes you you), personal/regional/national identities of yourself or others, conformity, etc. There are many coming of age issues you could deal with also: social aspects/problems, physically growing up, finding out what you want to do in the future, societal expectations, and so forth.

 

The IB likes doing new things and exploring things that aren't so obvious, so look into how you can take something like "coming of age" and make it unique. Also experiment with new media, they love that too.
