astriden
So I don't really understand the learning outcome "Examine one interaction between cognition and physiology in terms of behavior" in the biological level of analysis. Does anyone know what is actually meant by this and if there are any studies related to it? Thanks Reply
14moredays
Hi You can use the study by Richard Davidson who used PET scans to test the gamma rays emission between monks( who have had over 10,000hours of meditation) and normal individuals who were given training to meditate for a week. He found that the gamma ray emission increased during meditation for both the groups and the emission decreased for the normal individuals after meditation however it stayed the same for the monks. Hence this shows that cognition can affect physiology. Edited April 30, 2014 by 14moredays Reply
