SunshineRay
Hey everyone, I've been having a hard time picking a good article for my Macroeconomics Commentary, would anyone help me out? I've found some potential ones, and I'm kinda leaning towards the ones about Brazil or Ukraine more. I feel like some of them don't even talk about possible solutions (like fiscal or monetary policies) What do you think?Russia/Ukrainehttp://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/russia-hikes-interest-rate-amid-inflation-risk-23465888http://www.dailystar.com.lb/News/International/2014/Apr-26/254449-ukraine-crisis-leaves-shoppers-out-of-pocket.ashx#axzz2zzv8OWdghttp://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-10-30/ukraine-s-third-recession-since-2008-confirmed-on-industry-drop.htmlBrazil http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/economy/brazil-inflation-at-highest-rate-for-march-in-11-years/article17900884/http://in.reuters.com/article/2014/04/21/brazil-economy-worldcup-idINKBN0D70BZ20140421OR http://www.upi.com/Top_News/Special/2013/02/28/Big-spending-Brazil-battles-inflation/UPI-13571362078536/EUROPEhttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/10786193/Europe-is-impotent-in-the-face-of-deflation.htmlINDIAhttp://www.bbc.com/news/business-22394212*sorry there's a lot haha* Edited April 27, 2014 by SunshineRay Reply

I prefer short articles. you're articles must not have analyses otherwise there's no point of you writing the commentary. the situations are alright, but the articles have analyses done already. why don't you find other articles on brazilian inflation, but articles that only describe the problems, or perhaps have very little analysis. i didn't check all of them, nor did i completely read the ones i checked. but that's because i'm lazy at the moment and i find them long and hey, i wrote my commentary on the indian article! i don't think you can submit this as a final, because the article should be published 6-12 months before you write the commentary, no earlier than that. my teacher advises 6 months, and that's what the duration probably is, just confirm with your teacher. anyway, i recommend the brazilian situation, because you could talk in brief about employement, tourism and all as well, thus showing your economic knowledge.
