khimberleigh
To get an A you need 19-20/20, so it's a pretty small boundary but certainly not impossible to get an A. I got an A without ever studying any kind of philosophy subject before or really even doing much ToK (we saw it as a bit of a bludge period). So you don't need to be Aristotle to get an A. Just make sure you read the criteria and FOLLOW the criteria. Don't just pick a controversial issue and analyse the ethics of it, which for some reason many people seem to think ToK is about...it's not! You need to make sure you are analysing 'knowledge issues,' so when making your presentation keep asking yourself "how do we know that?" and what implication arise from that question. Charliepants
You need at least 19 points to get an A, but if you get a 17-18 points it's still not impossible to get an A on ToK overall (including the essay). Try to follow the assessment criteria as much as you can and remember to use "ToK language" (Areas of Knowledge, Ways of Knowing, etc.)! Also you should pick a topic that you find interesting. This way you can connect it to your own experiences as a learner (ToK is to a large extent about having a personal approach to learning). I for instance chose the topic "What defines good literature?", which turned out to be an extremely interesting topic in the end. Reply
