Bude
I watch anime, and know some romanji phrases from there if that helps... but I can't read or write it. I have a few Japanese friends though. Reply
twilight
Why do you have to do Japanese as an IB subject if your school doesn't offer it? You can choose other group 2 languages no?If you have the alternative, I think that would be a better option than self learning an entirely new language for an examination. 1 Reply
pecchiaw12
It is not for IB this language is a personal study. I am doing this out of choice in order to provide myself a better future. Reply
sameera95
Do you mean you're not taking Japanese as part of the IB? If not, then I see your point. You could count this for CAS too Reply

Guest kagami20
If you want I could help you too. I'm also learning Japanese as a side with a tutor, and understand basic Japanese language, so contact me if you're interested. Reply
pecchiaw12
As this does not serve anyone but me I do not know how it can count for CAS . No I do not have skype. Reply
bluedino
Some schools will let you have 'learning a new language' acceptable for the Creativity component of CAS - so ask your IB coordinator whether it's allowed for you. I believe this is generally acceptable only when it's a language you're not doing for IB (so not your Group 1 or Group 2 language). As for Skype, it's very easy to join and it's free for download if you want to get it. Alternatively, you could try online resources like youtube, busuu, live mocha or italki.. Also, if you're still stuck on how to type the characters on your Android -- go to the Play Store and download the app "Google Japanese Input" - or, you can search Japanese Keyboard and download whichever one you prefer. Hope this info helps. Reply
