Our school got the theme of "Science behind the campgrounds" lol.

If the focus is only on physics, the list is endless:

Conservation of energy - pretty much everything on a playground

Heat transfer of sand/gravel (the sand in the playground can get quite hot on a summer day!) - this can also tie into biology

Springs - I believe there are things fixed on the ground to a spring and kids can ride on it or something

Resonance - Swings

Rotational Motion - Tether-ball

Path of sound/waves - underground telephone thingy

Chemistry:

- Reactions and properties of the sand found there.

- Test for toxic substances in the playgrounds.

- Test for the purity of water in the playgrounds.

Physics:

- Conservation of energy in a slide.

- Projectile motion.

- Measuring the momentum of falling sand/gravel on a weight scale.

Biology:

- Make a survey on the species that inhabit a playground (I can't help much on this part).
