FlyAndrew
My teacher suggested I talk about realism (or more specifically American Realism). So I was thinking I should talk about the effect of American Realism in Huck Finn? Or how Twain implemented it? Or an evaluation of the portrayal of American Realism? Captain Jeeves
Mark Twain is a very popular author and Huck Finn a very popular book. It's also Twain's most obvious example of realism. I'm afraid this topic won't win you many points on the originality scale. However, I happen to like American realist authors. You might like to read Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser. It's considered by some to be the model for future realist novels - make of that what you will :] 1 Reply
FlyAndrew
Little too late to change my topic. I've decided to do: "What is the role and significance of realism in Mark Twain’s novel “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn?”There are no marks concerning originality, other than holistic judgement. Let's hope the IB graders do not mark me down due to choice of topic. Reply
