Hi,

SO I have troubles getting CAS hours because of a lot of reasons. o-o

Anyways, is there something that we can do like online that counts as service?

I'm just curious because this is my last year and I have to get it done :(

I found this site with some links to volunteering online. If you speak a different language, you could volunteer for translating articles of a different tongue to English as this blogger has stated: http://talentegg.ca/incubator/2012/06/20/age-volunteering-contributing-skills-online/

I wouldn't recommend the UN site if you are under 18 (says you have to be over 18). But if you are, here is the site

https://www.onlinevolunteering.org/en/index.html

OK so after searching through the internet for about half an hour(great procrastination on my part), there aren't really any e-volunteering you can do unless you are a website designer, or basically have any skills with computers. Look around a bit more but if you can't find any, then I'm sorry to say you'll have to go out and find volunteer work outside of the internet. You could join a club or if your school offers, BIg Brothers Big sisters which gives you about 40 hours(it's what I got last year) before May and it would take 10-15 minutes from your second block+lunch break.

How many hours of service do you need left?

Oh wow thank you so much for the info :)

That's all pretty helpful, I'm gonna check out the sites.

My school offers CAS but not much service. They have action as sports and creativity as yearbook and stuff

I'm not sure how many I have left exactly, but I know I haven't even got 30 done

I believe you can count the yearbook as service, but then maybe you could plan the IB graduation or something like that. Since you're school doesn't have much service, why not bring service opportunities to your school? It's your last year and I know that you're probably going to be very busy but try bringing in organizations with friends such as World Vision or Big Brothers Big Sisters. Suggest it to a teacher. In our school we also have World Vision's 30 hour famine (you fast yourself of food or you could restrict technology use for 30 hours, or anything that can be restricted). It would count toward service such as planning the event and all. Talk to a teacher, I'm sure they would love the idea in case the online volunteering doesn't work too well.

Good luck!
