ChocolateDrop
Have you asked your Economics teacher or any Economics teacher? Unfortunately my Economics teacher is ill and we've {my Econ class) been basically left to fend for ourselves. It's a tough world. The economist is supposed to be good at analysing articles. You could search for a similar article and see how they've analysed it.www.economist.com Edited October 17, 2012 by ChocolateDrop Reply
dniviE
Do not use The Economict for articles for your IA; they contain too much economic analysis from before. Also, if you use them to find analysis be careful that you don't copy what is being said there. What you should focus on is finding short articles in which you can spot the economic terms and discussable stuff easily. For the article you have chosen I would say it is a bit too long and contains too much wis-was about other things than what could be used for an Economics Commentary. Try finding an article that is concise and that you can easily spot the economic material in. For macroeconomics I would suggest that you search for an article on unemployment (which there is a lot of). Try using news.google.com, reuters.com, guardian.co.uk, cnn.com or other websites to find some articles that can be used. But don't use the same article. Just see how they do economic analysis.Look at sample Economics commentaries as well, I found structuring the commentary to be hardest. Here's a few examples:http://www.scribd.co...HL-Commentary-2http://www.scribd.co...ple-Portfolio-Ahttp://www.scribd.co...e-fixing-schemehttp://welkerswikinomics.com/blog/2011/09/13/sample-ib-economics-internal-assessment-commentary-understanding-the-ecbs-bond-purchasing-program/ Edited November 26, 2012 by ChocolateDrop 1 Reply
