yomanyomo
The description under 'The Arts' folder says that IB Film and IB Dance are pilot subjects. What do they mean by this?Does it mean that its a weak subject? Because that would suck, I feel like I should have done theatre. Edited October 1, 2012 by yomanyomo Reply
carpediem
Pilot subjects are new subjects that are in a "trial period", which is why pilot subjects are not as widespread as other subjects. It's like the concept of Pilot episodes on TV Shows, where they create the first episode to see how it goes. It's not necessarily a worse subject, just newer and a little bit of a tester. Some recent pilot subjects are sports science (or something of the like), and like you mentioned before, dance. carpediem
Nope, Lang/Lit isn't pilot now (if it ever was one). My year (May 2013) are just the first to do the exam when it is officially a new subject.EDIT: I think Lang/Lit was just an update to the old English syllabus, whereas pilot subjects tend to be completely new subjects. ESS used to be a pilot subject. Edited October 1, 2012 by carpediem Reply
