IB-Theater Research Investigation. Help with ideas?

Hi,

I am taking the IB-theatre exam this may (SL) after only one year in the class. Therefore I need to finish all four components to the final examination before this year is over. I am planning on writing my research investigation over thanksgiving break. I just have one major problem:

I don't have a topic! :o So if anyone have an idea, please let me know! I have considered doing Noe theatre or some kind of african, but I don't know which research question to come up with.

Please help me if you have any idea. I can use everything! :)

Yeah there is no exam, but you probably just mean finish the course itself.

I recommend (and this is coming from examiner's reports) something with strong conventions such as Wayang Kulit.

I honestly don't know what it is, but if the IB is recommending it I strongly suggest you have a look at it. I found out about this too late to use it myself.

Remember to read the subject guide (google it!) and make sure that you are doing a dramaturgical piece of writing (google it!) and not offering creative interpretations and so on.

Good luck!

P.S. If you ask any questions, you may not get a reply as I don't come on very often. Sorry about that..

Noe Theatre is a good choice. You can talk about the costume? Or performance customs?

Banraku is another good choice. You can talk about the set, costume, anything. It is a rich practice.

I choose British Pantomime costume, but that was a bad choice because there was not that many sources on costume. But you could talk about the reversed gender roles in Pantomime. There are a TON of sources on that.

Best of luck! The RI is such a pain.
