Cath_korsholm
Hi, I am taking the IB-theatre exam this may (SL) after only one year in the class. Therefore I need to finish all four components to the final examination before this year is over. I am planning on writing my research investigation over thanksgiving break. I just have one major problem: I don't have a topic! So if anyone have an idea, please let me know! I have considered doing Noe theatre or some kind of african, but I don't know which research question to come up with. Please help me if you have any idea. I can use everything! ibkillsme_May2012
Yeah there is no exam, but you probably just mean finish the course itself.I recommend (and this is coming from examiner's reports) something with strong conventions such as Wayang Kulit.I honestly don't know what it is, but if the IB is recommending it I strongly suggest you have a look at it. I found out about this too late to use it myself.Remember to read the subject guide (google it!) and make sure that you are doing a dramaturgical piece of writing (google it!) and not offering creative interpretations and so on.Good luck!P.S. If you ask any questions, you may not get a reply as I don't come on very often. Sorry about that.. mfitzpatrick
Noe Theatre is a good choice. You can talk about the costume? Or performance customs?Banraku is another good choice. You can talk about the set, costume, anything. It is a rich practice.I choose British Pantomime costume, but that was a bad choice because there was not that many sources on costume. But you could talk about the reversed gender roles in Pantomime. There are a TON of sources on that. Best of luck! The RI is such a pain.
