Mimitchi
Hello all!I really need to know this. In the Listening Paper for Music SL, are we allowed our scores for Jupiter and El Salon Mexico? My teacher seems to believe that we aren't allowed to have them, and so she's forcing us to memorize parts of the score (themes) so that we can "regurgitate" them on our exam papers to defend our points. And not just a rough idea of these parts. Every single detail, from the tiniest rest to the biggest chords. On the 21st, we have a test to see how well we've memorized these excerpts, of which there are at least 50!I find this ridiculous. There is no educational benefit in cramming all that in our heads, so why would IB require this? I really hope our teacher is mistaken. She's from France, so her method of teaching involves us memorizing everything. ;___; Since I have 10 years background in piano and RCM exams, I should have no problem with the exam in May... It's just this idea of "score regurgitating" that baffles me. Edited November 12, 2011 by Mimitchi Reply
Ice Cream is really yummy
I'm unsure.... could someone clear this up for us, please? I have the exact same question.I don't believe that my teacher is entirely sure of what we get on the day of our exam in May. Reply
