Schrödinger's Cat
I do SL Psychology, but our Paper 1 is the same as yours.I did alright, I think! My class, we all hate our teacher because he told us not to learn the General Learning Outcomes (GLOs) and so most of the people in our class didn't answer Question 2 of the short-answer questions. I am so lucky I decided to be a rebel and just learn everything the textbook had anyway O_OWhich essay did you write? Reply

Schrödinger's Cat
Good!!! What's with these silly Psych teachers? That was a precious 8 marks nobody was willing to lose. Oh well, it will teach the next group of IBs to study their GLOs if anything Oh! I thought that was the hardest one... I picked the one on schema theory because I knew it really well, but the sociocultural one I thought was pretty straightforward too I thought it was a pretty good paper! alpsz94
Paper 1 was really good. I thought the social learning theory was basically a gift. Reply
Schrödinger's Cat
Was that Question 3 of the short answers? Did you write about Bandura's study like everyone else? Reply
alpsz94
Yeah that one. Bobo doll! Reply
Schrödinger's Cat
I will always remember Bobo dolls... my teacher showed us the actual footage of the kids hitting the Bobo dolls, haha. But yeah, I liked that paper! The only thing I stuffed up on was the first question on neurotransmitters - had a complete mental blank and couldn't remember my study for serotonin, so I explained it in terms of its role on mood and depression (and how SSRIs helped)... oh well, aha Reply
alpsz94
Overall, great paper! When I turned my paper over, I was so excited when I saw neurotransmitters, haha . Serotonin! kasamatsu and hirai (1999) with the monks. Reply
Schrödinger's Cat
Yeah that's the study I have in my notes! I remembered the hallucinating monk but I thought I would just look stupid if I didn't tack a name and year on the description of the study. The only study with a Japanese name I could remember during the exam was Kashima and Triandis (1986) for modesty bias Good one, me! alpsz94
Haha:), by the way i was also surprised with the inclusion of the principles. I wrote some random stuff and then after the exam i went to check my notes, turns out it was correct.... Reply
