Do I need Math HL if I want to become a dentist?

So... I want to become a dentist and I am planning to go to USA for university.

I am taking Biology HL, Chemistry HL, English B HL and Maths HL.

However, I'm finding math HL too difficult and am thinking of dropping to SL.

I am currently a junior and I have 2 more months till end the junior year.

What should I do?

You would not need HL maths to qualify for any medical or dentistry course at university in general. Calculus, vectors, and complex numbers take up a large part of the HL maths syllabus, none of these are related to the course you wish to study at university. You should however be aware of what particular universities want, but in general it is safe to say that they will not ask for such unrelated qualifications. Dropping from HL to SL will not hinder your ability to do well in the exam, what should be more of a concern is your IAs. Have you completed the two IAs for HL maths yet? If you have it is likely that the SL group has already. This will mean you have to redo your IAs to correspond with the SL course. But if you are struggling, the cost of this should be relatively low and worth it.
