Smooth Dawg
Hello! For the MI, does IB want both a comparison AND a contrast of the works used, or just a comparison? In the examples at the IB website (http://occ.ibo.org/ibis/documents/dp/gr6/music/d_6_music_spp_0904_2_e.pdf), I noticed that the top scoring one (which scored a 19/20) only compared elements of the pieces, with no contrast whatsoever. Yet one of the mark schemes I read online (http://www.stedwards.oxon.sch.uk/images/musicib.pdf), briefly mentions contrast in Criterion B. Is this what IB wants? Should works be compared and contrasted, or just compared? Reply
flamicecream
Yes, apart from the discussion of your musical links you should compare and contrast the works you are analyzing. (according to the rubric, at least) Reply
