ArtemisMaximus
I know that IB wants the CAS hours to be spread out equaly between service comunity and action, 50/50/50, but, I heard that also it has to be equal between the years (75 in year 1 and 75 in year 2) and between the semesters, and that if its not, you might not get your diploma. Is this true? Reply
IB_delusion
i don't think it's true. just need to get the 50hours done and u can do it anytime you want. Reply
Julie
It does not have to be 75/75, but it is highly discouraged to do all of your CAS in one year. The IB moderators look at that as getting the work out of the way, and not truly experiencing it. So try and get some equilibrium, but hey, nothing is going to happen if you have 50 or 60 one year and 90 or 100 the next. Reply
nuka
well, our school doesn't really seem to go by hours anymore. we do CAS reflections and stuff.i'm not sure whether it's a mixture of hours and reflections.. but in any case, i agree with julie; it doesn't have to be an even spread, but i wouldn't recommend bombarding yourself with everything in the first year.
