jjliu
Hi guys, just wondering, which text books you guys use for your HL sections?because the IB History Companion only seems to have SL topics. I desperately need some recommendations of which books i should get for HL sections, so that i can order the books from the internet and do self study, cuz our school don't have any IB companion books at all, i had to get my course companion myself via the internet! Anyway.. Our teacher chose these topics for HL: 8. Interwar years: Conflicts and Cooperation1919-39, 9. The Soviet Union and Eastern Europe 1924-2000, 10. The Second World War and post-war Western Europe 1939-2000or you could tell me where i can get notes on these topics, i don't mind if it's not free, as long as it's the complete IB notes, i'd sacrifice anything to get it...desperately need help!!! thank you all!!! ∫ Jorge δx
Our teacher doesn't use textbooks...He goes for those mean university books on the topics + historiography and theory. Reply
Evelina
I take history HL and some of the books we use in my class are:Pearson Baccalaureate: History: Cold War for the IB diploma. This one I really like Europe 1970-1991 (Flagship History) Morris/Murphy. This one is very good and covers a lot ...though I find it a bit difficult (boring...) to read sometimes, apart from that it is awesome.Germany 1858-1990: Hope, Terror and Revival (Oxford Advanced History). Very easy to read, however it only covers the German aspect during this time... Also you could try purchasing some study guides or revision guides to help you study... we use parts of them in class as complements to the books and it's great!
