MLIIB2012
Hi,I just joined IB this school year and I think it is a great program but I have terrible teachers. I have a history teacher who doesn't teach and if we ask questions, he would reply with a question tell you that your questions is a good one and you should look into yourself. I have no idea how I am going to pass or get my diploma. My teacher claims that he has 100% pass rate but I don't want to have my diploma at stake after 2 years of hard work. Which textbook do you use? I have a textbook that is for AP U.S.H. and not for IB. I would really like one that will help me learn the information since my teacher won't teach. Thanks Reply
Ravi_W
My class actually uses 3 different text books. We use:-20th century world history course companion by martin, cannon and others-the twentieth century and beyond, 7th ed. by: mcgraw hill-war and peace-international relations 1878-1941 I would say if you were to use any, use the ib course companion though, it's so helpful, and I personally take a lot from the way they structure their book.I totally feel you though on having bad teachers. My school is really dumb about the IB program, and wants kids to take as many AP's and IB's as possible to make themselves look good, so I took APUS last year as the 'first year to IB HOTA', and I had an awful teacher, so I felt really unprepared at the beginning of the year. Good luck though, it takes a lot of extra studying, but I feel it will pay off in the long run! Reply
