sharylc
Hi. I'm using the formula PV = nRT in my latest IA, and I got the atmospheric pressure values from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology website. (http://www.bom.gov.au/)I'm pretty sure there's no uncertainty listed on the website, but I don't think the uncertainty can just be 0, either. What should I do? Can I just put 0 and make a note that it's because it wasn't given? Reply
laryxle
Because it's a literature value I don't think you need an uncertainty.Besides, the syllabus says somewhere that students are only expected to know uncertainties for the parts of the experiments that manipulated themselves or something like that Reply
Tilia
We were told that when we read values from somewhere, the uncertainty was one in the last digit, so if the value was 0.57, the uncertainty was 0.01. Reply
