Concern over doing a topic that has been done before

Hello! My EE's subject is History, and I want to do it on the Philippines and its formalized education as introduced by Spanish and American colonizers. Specifically, I wanted to focus on how Filipino women's role in society has changed due to that formalized education.

However, once I went online to do some research, I found a bunch of academic articles that have practically the same topic as I do! At first, I thought my question was specific and niche enough, but to my surprise, there's plenty of works out there that have focused on women's education in the Philippines.

If I continue to do this topic, I'm worried that it might not be original enough or that I would be accused of plagiarism. What should I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
