EE RQ Lit Help

This is the first time I have ever used IB Survival but here we go. So I am wanting to do my EE about the two novels of Crime and Punishment by Fydor D. and Matilda by Roald D. where I want to focus my topic on the villains of their stories and how they basically help the protagonists more than hurt them. The villains being Ms. Trunchbull and Luzhin. When I think about someone who helps another person I think of a 'mentor'. So here is my idea:

"To what extent do the villains in the works Fydor Dostoyevsky and Roald Dahl fulfil the mentor archetype?"

Please let me know if this is too broad or too narrow.....thank you
