The molar heat of vaporization of water is 40.7 kJ/mol. What is the energy change in 2.0 g water that condenses at 100C?

I'd like to know why the answer is exothermic?

Well during condensation, water changes from the gas phase to the liquid phase, thus losing its internal energy. The lost energy will then be released to the environment, resulting in an exothermic reaction.

Hope this helps!
