Selikem
I want do my Written Assignment on Ivan Denisovich but I'm kind of stuck on choosing a good topic. I'm thinking of writing about the theme of Human Perseverance seen through actions, but I'm not sure if it is good enough. I also don't really know how to go about writing it because my English teacher is vague/doesn't talk about what hes looking for. Any tips? Schrodinger's CAS
That can certainly be a good topic But you shouldn't use the word "theme" in your essay (as your main point). For instance, you thesis should not be "Solzhenitsyn uses the actions of characters to show the theme of human perseverance". It should be something like "Through the characterization of X and Y, Solzhenitsyn illustrate that human nature is intrinsically persevere". Start by writing down everything in the book about your topic. Then, try to find a link between what you've written down, and see if you can find a good argument. Hope this helps 1 Reply
