Hrishi98
Using the data below, estimate the mass of water turned into steam as a result of this heating process.initial mass of water = 0.30 kginitial temperature of the water θ = 20°Cspecific heat capacity of water = 4.2 × 103 J kg–1 K–1specific latent heat of vaporization of water = 2.3 × 106 Jkg–1 The no.s are superscript in some of them....And pls can anyone solve the mass of the water turned into steam? I think you haven't given us enough information to work with. You haven't mention anything about the actual *heating process*. In other words, how much energy has it been put in? What is the final temperature of water? etc etc. Reply

Vioh
No, this was it in the worksheet... I pulled this paper from the internet, website called Xtremepapers.com Ok, I see where you get the paper from. It’s November 2004 physics HL paper 2, isn’t it? Like what I had noticed, you forgot to mention the part of the question where it says that the water is heated in 10 minutes by a 400W power source, because this piece of information is very important in solving it. Have you looked at the markscheme of this question yet? If you haven’t, then here it is: If you happen to find the markscheme hard to understand, then please say which part of the answer you’re confused about, and I’ll try to help you as best as I can Edited January 2, 2015 by Vioh Reply
