tdawg
In Canada, the regular high school curriculum, academic and applied courses. Academic being the more complex of the two. In Grade 9 Pre-IB my school automatically signs me up for all academic courses, in IB you can't applied courses(more primitive). My question is with my current marks will I be alright in pre-IB grade 9. How different is pre-IB grade 9, compared to regular academic grade 9 courses, is grade 9 pre-IB significantly more challenging? I'm worried about my french marks, however. Will these current grade 8 academic marks be alright? English(top grade 8 mark): 90%Math: 89%Canada(History and Geography): 89%Science: 87%French: 71%(very worried) My overall class average with Sex Ed, Gym, and all Art strands, with the academic marks is 84%. ultimateone
My advice is very simple, you shouldn't be worried at all at Grade 9! You still have a couple of years till you actually get to IB Diploma. Also, your grades are actually very impressive, I have no clue why you're worrying. Enjoy your time while it lasts! by.andrew
Your french mark is a bit low, but if you go into high school, it's a clean slate. You should worry about high school when you get there. Otherwise, your other marks look good! Reply
ShootingStar16
You should be fine in pre-IB. It's very similar to regular. The IB diploma programme doesn't actually start until grade 11. Edited July 7, 2014 by ShootingStar16 Reply
