ibisannoying
Hi, can someone please suggest me a good text I can use for my FOA next week with the outcome 'Demonstrate an awareness of how language and meaning are shaped by culture and context.' or 'Analyze how audience and purpose affect the structure and content of texts.' Thanks Reply
Kirill
For "Analyze how audience and purpose affect the structure and context of texts" try the brochure for A Romantic Stroryof the Backward Trail of Civilization. Not sure is you will be able to find it online though. I've studied in the first semester, so if you do find it and you feel like you need some help, feel free to message me.Hope it helps Kirill 1 Reply
Sandwich
Technically you could pick up a magazine or a newspaper and do it on any extract whatsoever from these. 1 Reply
Taha
I suggest you take up a topic relating to your local area. FOA topic should be relating to you or affecting you in some way which can be a driving factor for you tot take up that topic. Make sure Language as well as Culture play a good role in your FOA. Take up a topic that defines your culture and you well and make sure the issue you raise is valid. Explore stereotypes with example and try to make it interactive. 1 Reply
HopelessWanderer
I did the Audience and Purpose one for my foa, and my text was robert Kennedy's day of Affirmation speech. i talked about how his young audience affected his speech and the purpose in relation to South Africa. i got a 28/30 (7) so that went well 1 Reply
