Hey guys,

I am doing A streetcar named desire in English Language and Literature and my teacher has set me with some homwork which I am struggling with. This is what she gave me:

Tennessee Williams assigns color imagery to many of the characters in the play "A Streetcar Named Desire." Describe how his use of this literary device adds depth to the character development using specific examples from the text.

Does anyone have an idea? I need a quick answer!

Thanks

This is probably very late but you could also comment on how Stanley is said to dress in gaudy colors all the time showing how loud and outspoken his character is.

Along with this you may comment on the fact that Blanche's muted tones and Stanley's gaudy colors (at least with respect to their dressing) further brings out the conflict between the characters

Hope this helps :)
