what fulfills an IB group requiement

does ITGS SL or HL count as a group 3 subject towards the diploma or is it just grouped under group 3 but only counts as group 6?

ITGS counts as a group 3 subject but can be taken as a group 6 elective. For group 6 electives a subject from Groups 1 - 5 can be selected., but this depends on your school/ schedule and availability. Some schools are only able to offer certain subjects in certain Groups. Like my school for example could only offer physics as a Group 4 subject, whilst Chemistry could be offered as a Group 4 and 6. This was because there was only one physics teacher, whilst Chemistry had a lot of teachers available at different times.

ITGS is officially a Group 3 subject. Unless you have two Group 3 subjects (and hence one of those is under Group 6 because Group 6 is Arts and Electives), it is only a Group 3 subject.

Its a group 3 subject and yes, you can take two of those instead of doing a group 6 subject.

I believe you can take it as a 3 instead of a Humanities, but some schools don't allow that. So it depends on your school really
