JaeJ
Hello~I'm planning to use different concentrations of lipase on cream milk, and then measure the pH (which it's supposed to get more acidic), but I'm not sure what concentrations I should use.Has anyone tried this or a similar lab before? at school we can't do a preliminary test (we have just one try) because of the limited resources, and I don't want to ruin it, so any suggestions would be appreciated, also related to the time I should leave them react .Thanks (excuse my bad english) :] Reply
Drake Glau
What are you trying to measure? Changing the concentration is going to alter the rate of the reaction going up to the point where you saturate the milk with lipase. I would use very low concentrations. Probably less than 1M would work and then leave it for anywhere from 5-10min. Keep the time constant of course. Reply
