MoneyWinker
I have the TI-Nspire™ with Touchpad GDC. It seems to be a great calculator with a nice UI.My question is: does it have preset constants (planck's constant, electron rest mass, etc.)? I know the TI84 does but I'm not sure about this one? If it does, how would I access it?Thanks, Reply
Drake Glau
I'm pretty sure the nspire comes with different keypads, one of which is the TI-84 so if you use that interface it would work just like every other TI84. Reply
MoneyWinker
Yes it does but the problem is I would have to remove the Nspire keypad and put the TI-84. It takes about a minute or two for the OS to change from Nspire to TI-84. I mean I could just look in the data booklet if that is the only way... Drake Glau
Oh I have no idea then. My school gives us Nspires to use but they only let us use the ti84 because that's all the IB test will let us use =/ Reply
MoneyWinker
Actually, IB lets you use TI Nspire but it needs to be on "Press to Test" mode. It's very easy to change it to this mode.http://www.muwci.net/IB_Calculators.pdfYou should probably talk to your IB Coordinator about this because I feel that the Nspire is much easier to use than TI-84. That's just me though, maybe it's because I am used to it. Reply
Drake Glau
The school provides everything for our test so I'll use what they give me i'm also stuck in Math St. so it really doesn't matter How good are those Nspires though? I might get one for college because I'm going to end up taking calc and beyond for my major and it'd be great to have an amazing calculator...We have them at school but like I said we're stuck with only the TI-84 interface =/ Reply
MoneyWinker
It is a great calculator: http://www.techpoweredmath.com/review-ti-84-vs-ti-nspire-buying-guide/The buttons and the display interfaces are both great (especially the Black TouchPad one). I don't really think the Touchpad is that great but you don't have to use it. Most of the functions are easy to find and are organized well. There are some things that are annoying like every time you turn on the calculator, it would go to the "home" screen. It wouldn't just let you continue with the document. If you want one for college, you should get the CAS. You can factor, find indefinite integrals and derivatives on it!!! Or maybe get the TI Nspire CX, it's in colour and you can do 3D graphing, which is COOL!!http://education.ti.com/calculators/products/US/Nspire-Family/CX-HandheldsYou're in Math Studies? Why!? Your school doesn't offer HL/SL Math? Reply
