Music in University

Hi everyone!

I want to do music in university, does anybody know what university has a good music program?

Also, how hard is it to get into?

PS - I live in Canada. But if there are good universities in the states or UK that you can recommend, I'd like to hear about them too!

Music is relatively easy to get to (at least in Canadian Universities). I believe it ranges from 25-29 Points. UBC in Canada has a decent program. But if you really want to go to a good music school, go to Juliard/Eastman. And remember all of these universities require an audition (or possibly a portfolio as well of music).

I would need to be REALLY good at music to get into Juliard/Eastman, wouldn't I?

Like, I know people who want to go to Juliard but all of them are like professional amazing players who have done their ARCT for like 3 instruments or they have their own agent already, etc.

I am currently working on my Grade 10 RCM. I know U of T requires at least an ARCT in piano to even get an audition, so I am unsure of what university has a good program AND isn't too competitive.

Especially because art schools don't really care whether or not you did IB.
