Just guess the definition of the word. Most of the time you'd be right And if you're not right, that's okay because you'll never need to use the word ever again!

the most outlandish thing you've done whilst studying?

I put the Predicate Rap on repeat. Because I love Smosh. -
Yes, I have attempted suicide. But it didn't work. I was too weak in my self-will and gave up after several tries. And anyways, that was a long time ago when I was having major problems so I definitely don't recommend it to anyone. Not that it would matter after if you are already dead Please don't go to suicide if you are thinking about it. You're not thinking straight and life is SO much better once you get over it, whatever "it" may be.

I have had many teachers who, in my opinion, are not fit to teach high school, but I have never hated anyone of them. They haven't exactly done anything worthy of hate, have they? They just don't teach very well. I don't really think that deserves such a severe judgement. For some reason I've loved every single on of my teachers, yes even the mean ones, because the mean ones turn out to be the most interesting. And it's not their fault they are mean. Maybe their having that time of the month or they just broke up with their girlfriend or they had a fight with their kid. I don't know. But in

The 'Something I always wanted to know the answer to' thread

Trust me, Korean guys who look good are usually spoilt / perverted / stuck-up / selfish / petty / weak / too dependent / heartless people. Of course, I'm not one to judge, but that's just my general opinion of the "hot" Korean guys I know. Seriously people. Stop being so superficial. And is it just me, or are many guys (whether Asian or not) exactly like that too nowadays? That's my question. And I apologize if I offended any Koreans with my negative yet entirely true observation. -
I'd definitely rather pass out. Because in passing out there are two options: One, something good will happen (which will be very exciting) Two, something bad will happen (which will also be very exciting)

You know you're a musician when...
Calypso replied to simplisticwonders's topic in General Discussion
I'm a pianist, guitarist, flutist, singer, a barely-there saxophonist and bassist, and a new ukulele-ist. Jack of all trades, master of none You know you're a musician when - You fall in love with a dead white guy: namely, Mozart - You hear Eine Kleine Nachtmusik in your head during a Biology Test - Your turn math graph paper into a musical score... during math class. - You make up a song about your dinner and how you're going to eat it (wait, that might possibly be insanity) - You have an odd urge to fall asleep with your ukulele tucked in bed with you - the alphabet only ranges from A - G -
1. What is your real name? Oscar Wilde 2. Where are you from? Wonderland. 3. How did you find out about IB Survival? Doing those darn Math Portfolios and someone had the answers here. 4. What made you register on IB Survival? It's like facebook except not. 5. When did you (approximately) register here? Since the beginning of time. 6. What is your favourite IB subject? Sleeping. 7. When are you graduating? When I graduate. 8. What are your plans for university? Plans are only for those who lack confidence in themselves. 9. What are your free-time hobbies? Playing the ukulele. What's your best way to refresh between studying?
Calypso replied to sundayrose's topic in General IB Discussion
Well since it's approaching Christmas right now, I find the best way to take a break from doing IB work is spending time with my family doing fun holiday-spirity things! Like, play some jazzy Christmas music, make some cookies, gingerbread men, and Christmas cards to butter up those extra hard marking IB teachers, hehe -
I used to be totally in agreement with you about teenage love. But I dunno, I think it's possible. It's not an illusion, I think that's just your excuse because you (and no one) is capable of defining it. When you're in love or at least strongly passionate for someone, there's a distinctly different feeling that you get. It's definitely not an illusion. Be more optimistic and positive =) I agree. When you say teenage love is just a mere illusion you're just hidding yourself behind words, without facing reality. It is true that nowadays there are a lot of teenagers that start saying "I lo

There is no "type". After you define something as what you think it is, you limit yourself to only what you have defined. Teenage love is insignificant, and let's just admit it, most of the time love is simply an illusion. Oscar Wilde said that: "Men marry because they are tired, women because they are curious; both are disappointed." Apply this statement to dating and it proves itself all the more to be true.

Calypso is a nymph in Greek mythology. She seduced and kept the hero Odysseus on her island for several years. Calypso is also a type of Afro-Caribbean music that originated from Trinidad and Tobago I think. Good myth, good music = username!
