Is first going for community college and then applying to more prestigious Unis a good iidea?

With factors like acceptance rate, finance in mind is applying to a US community college as an international student and then transitioning to better Universities a good idea?

Possibly. If you go that route check if the credits transfer as not all 4 year schools accept community college credits from all schools. (It would suck to spend two years in community college only to find out your 4 year school doesn't accept the credits)
