Do universities look only for ib grades or they look for pre-ib grades aswell?

Hi,

I am now finishing my 10th grade(pre-ib grade) in my school and I am going to take IB from the next year, so my question is:"Do universities look only for ib grades or they look for pre-ib grades aswell?".

They don't look at your pre-IB grades at all. Just your IB grades and other things such as extracurriculars/SATs if that applies.

It depends on where you're applying. I know for the UK it's all about your IB grades and your IB predicted grades. For the US they look at your high school years more holistically because they make a decision before you take your IB exams. US universities also look at your ACT or SAT scores and extracurriculars as ShootingStar16 said

Some uni also require like a high school transcript, which is like a "collection" of your grades since 9th grade. But you should ask, each university might have their own requirements. Ive had to send high school transcripts to a few universities in UK

In Canada, most if not all Universities ignore your Pre-IB marks. Your predicted and final grades are what's important.

Most U.S. schools want your GPA of all of your high school classes (and SAT scores, extracurricular activities, etc.). As far as admissions go, IB scores don't play a huge role - just if you get credit for said class.

Out of interest, I researched some Kazakhstanian/Kazakhstani(?) universities. None that I googled displayed IB requirements on their websites, but many (ex: Narzarbayev University) stated SAT scores. Before, I barely knew Khazakhstan is a country, thank you for prompting me to expand my knowledge
