Guest Ogle
Hello! After fulfilling all the requirements for uni, I found that there is a scholarship program available - Lloyds Scholars 2014. Unfortunately the criteria state, that I have to be either a UK resident or EU student currently residing in the UK. The problem is that the deadline is tomorrow, so I will obviously not be residing in UK because I'm a Latvian still in Latvia and coming to UK in September. At this point it seems, that this is quite a weird criteria - why does it matter that I'm not residing in UK right now if i'll be there anyway when studies at uni start? Has anyone been involved in this program? Do I understand the criteria 'Be UK residents or EU students currently residing in the UK'? Can I maybe still tick, that I fulfill this criteria? Thank You for any help! http://www.lloyds-scholars.com/eligibility Reply
Sandwich
I think you've interpreted it correctly, it's only open to UK residents. If you're not usually resident in the UK, you won't be eligible. I think the idea is that it's a domestic scholarship, especially because of the household income requirement which would be relative to the country. £25,000 may be relatively more (or less) elsewhere in terms of an amount to live on. Just guessing! http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_cities.jsp?country1=United+Kingdom&country2=Latvia&city1=London&city2=Riga Reply
