nomzy98
I was thinking about doing my Chem SL IA on the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by catalase found in a potato. I was going to change the particle size of the potato and determine its effect on the rate of decomposition I am a bit concerned if the method I am using is okay. I asked my teacher if I could use a gas syringe to measure the gas produced, but they said the gas syringes they have are not great and have a lot of uncertainty. An alternative was to add soap to the hydrogen peroxide and measure the time it takes for the bubbles to reach a certain height. Or could I somehow use a eudiometer to measure gas produced? Is this an appropriate method? Is my question okay? Edited February 4, 2022 by nomzy98 Reply
