I have been thinking about doing my EE in music because it would be an idea that I would enjoy a lot. I’m not a professional musician, however I have some experience of playing and knowledge of basic music theory. For those who did their EE in music, does my research question need to be exploring or analyzing a certain genre of music, or a song or two in specific? If so, what songs would be the best choices? As jazz is the most complex and complete genre of music, I thought about doing an analysis of a song, even not being a big jazz fan. I thought about Progressive Rock, as it contains more complete and longer songs, and I would enjoy more. What would you do if you were me? any responses are welcome.
