aintbeenbrokeinaminute
I'm doing HL Chem Physics and Math. I heard that BM is considered a soft subject by universities, I don't know if CS is considered the same. Which subject is easier? I'm going to be doing engineering but I've heard that CS is not required and isn't preferred, and BM provides practical knowledge and allows to be more rounded. Does CS help in university, how much programming content is involved? What should I take? Thank you. Sorry for asking this question before but I am still in doubt. ChocolateAndVanilla
You already have 2 group 4 subjects, so in order to take 3rd (instead of taking grup 3 subject) you have to do irregular diploma so your school and IBO have to agree on that. I don't know exactly how it works, but if you're starting IB in august/september 2020, I think, you should have already sent such a request to IBO. BM is a quite easy subject so it might be good to have it in order to have 1 subject that you don't need to work so hard for it and CS is, from what I've heard, quite hard and the IA is demanding and requires a lot of hard work. sarahaction
I advise you to do Business Management or Geography because in my case, my IB coordinator disagreed with doing 3 sciences. I know someone who got a 43 and he said that BM is pretty hard, therefore considering taking geography is also a good idea. But try to look at the past papers (it is also good to download them since the past paper websites shut down due to copyrights): Business management Paper 1 2019 May - https://mega.nz/folder/uQRCGQDK#yNqCrVf0X-b1KSRMAQSk6g/file/KMIE0QAB Mark scheme of paper 1 2019 May - https://mega.nz/folder/uQRCGQDK#yNqCrVf0X-b1KSRMAQSk6g/file/KBJikYJQ Paper 2 2019 May - https://mega.nz/folder/uQRCGQDK#yNqCrVf0X-b1KSRMAQSk6g/file/OJAUHaRY Mark scheme paper 2 2019 May - https://mega.nz/folder/uQRCGQDK#yNqCrVf0X-b1KSRMAQSk6g/file/OJAUHaRY Geography 2019 May Paper 1 question booklet - https://mega.nz/folder/uQRCGQDK#yNqCrVf0X-b1KSRMAQSk6g/file/rFAWmIhS 2019 May Paper 1 mark scheme - https://mega.nz/folder/uQRCGQDK#yNqCrVf0X-b1KSRMAQSk6g/file/qcQ02CpS 2019 May Paper 1 resource booklet - https://mega.nz/folder/uQRCGQDK#yNqCrVf0X-b1KSRMAQSk6g/file/WRZkGS5S 2019 May Paper 2 question booklet - https://mega.nz/folder/uQRCGQDK#yNqCrVf0X-b1KSRMAQSk6g/file/udYAQaiR 2019 May Paper 2 resource booklet - https://mega.nz/folder/uQRCGQDK#yNqCrVf0X-b1KSRMAQSk6g/file/iYRkxYCb 2019 May Paper 2 mark scheme - https://mega.nz/folder/uQRCGQDK#yNqCrVf0X-b1KSRMAQSk6g/file/HNAGhSJB Yours sincerely Edited July 9, 2020 by sarahaction Reply
fallingintodepression
I would advice you to take BM. I am taking CS rn and i regret it because it is really hard. But if you are used to programming and you are really good at math, then CS will not be difficult for you. Reply

I think it's definitely better than Econ (there are just too many terms to memorize), but I'm not sure about CS. Reply
