almudena
HI GUYS, i was wondering if someone could guide me about implications for the TOK prescribed tittle “Given that every theory has its limitations, we need to retain a multiplicity of theories to understand the world.” Discuss this claim with reference to two areas of knowledge. THANKS! Reply
Certified_IB_Cultist
Which areas of knowledge are you thinking about using? I would pick two AOK and then come up with some theories about both, then discuss the theories. Hope this helps! Reply

I was thinking of doing Natural Sciences and Human Sciences. However, my teacher told me to think about the fact that retaining knowledge means that it is coming from the past and the implications of that however, i’m not very sure what this means. If you have any ideas it would truly help! Reply
Certified_IB_Cultist
I think it means to look at the time period in which the theories were made; look at what was going on in that country and in the world because that influences a lot of theories, especially with the sciences. One example could be sciences during the World Wars. A lot of the tech made then was for the war and pretty much everyone was focused on the wars. So any theories made during either of the World Wars were most likely influenced by the Wars. Reply

Certified_IB_Cultist
Anytime! For that, I would look at Galileo and the Catholic Church, his theories were a HUGE breakthrough in science as well as a huge source of anger for the Church (they didn't like being told they were wrong). Jays
Hello Guys, I was wondering if I could get help with the implicationsfor the TOK prescribed tittle; “There is a sharp line between describing something and offering an explanation of it.” To what extent do you agree with this claim? THANKS! Reply
