What Language B options does your school offer?

My school, in New Zealand, offered French, German, Mandarin and Japanese - all at HL/SL. and spanish ab initio

Hi My School offers Swahili A1 and B and French B..well I suppose thats because we are in Kenya..but i still wish we had spanish or something..

In our school, for the normal high school, they offer Chinese and French

But for IB, they offered Mandarin Ab Initio and Spanish Ab Initio

At first there were at least 14 students in each class, but it lessened as the levels were adjusting to IB Levels

Though most of the students stayed in Spanish, alot moved to Visual Arts from Mandarin cuz they had to memorize all the characters

I stayed cuz I keep thinking that Mandarin is similar to Korean (not the writing but some of the words) so Im still dealing with the memorization and stuff

my school in canberra, australia offers: French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, Korean, Hindi and Latin. I know you can do French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese at HL or SL, but not sure about the others

I thought mine was the only one that offered so few choices, but I was clearly wrong!

All they give us is French and Spanish, and both SL.

I'm not too butt hurt, because I was set on French from the very beginning, but I wish we had the opportunity to take HL!

LOL, I love how many schools offer so many languages .

My school only offers ENGLISH B (yes english B, lol) and ARABIC B. If I knew about this B and AB Initio system I would have taken FRENCH B definatly!

My school offers spanish, french. and english for international students. And there are like 2 people who are doing latin as their second language. (I don't really get this. Since as far as I know, no one actually 'speaks' latin in their life.)

Latin? No way! I didn't think they still taught Latin. That's freaking amazing A little useless in your future, but still pretty cool

Doesn't seem like a very good choice, in my opinion. In my year, there are about 10 art students, but only 1 has reached a five as end-of-term-grade this far.

English A2 (for those who take their native language as their A1)

French B

Spanish ab initio

That's not a lot of options.

For language B subjects, my school offers French, English, Arabic and Spanish, but I wish we had something really cool like Swahili

My school (in my opinion) pretty much sucks if it's about languages:

English SL/HL/A2

German SL/HL

French SL/HL

Spanish Ab initio

Spanish is new so I didn't get the chance to take it as one of my subjects, which aggravates me a lot. Plus, it would be nice if they gave at least the SL option as well.

Anyhow, I wish we had some cool languages to choose from like Italian, Dutch or Japanese.

At my school they offer German, Spanish and French. All are SL. We also have Chinese, but it isn't IB.

For Language B, My school offers Chinese B, Indonesian B, German Ab Initio and Japanese Ab Initio, however, they are trying to phase out Indonesian B, and are replacing it with German B. Oh, and English B (I forgot about that one)

My school has English B and A2 at HL&SL, German B HL&SL, and French and Spanish ab initio. Most of the students take English B HL or A2 though.

My school only offers English B HL to take as the second language (which means it's compulsory). However, you may also choose to take French or German (ab initio and SL, I guess there's no HL or maybe...) instead of a second Experimental or Individuals and Societies subject.
