Some schools get them done in early Y2 so it all depends. IB only sets deadlines for schools to submit final paperwork (eg graded assignments fully checked for plagiarism) and each school sets the deadlines for students. My school chemistry SL teacher is asking for the IA proposal in three days time, i.e. in January Year 1 for the May 2022 exams. Isn't that too early? We haven't even completed half the units.
