captain teemo on duty
Does anyone play video games while in the IB programme? Some games like league of legends are addictive and can cause harm to our study plans. Just wanna know if people in the IB spend times on these things Reply
IB`NOT`ez
I played a lot of Heroes of Newerth (really toxic game lol), Overwatch, and Pokemon throughout the DP. Mostly Heroes of Newerth during DP1, but then mostly Overwatch & Pokemon Sun/Moon in DP2. It's actually good to spend time playing games as we're hardly machines that can slave over 24/7 for the IB. SC2Player
Well, I play Starcraft 2, as noted by my username. The community is quite a lot better than DotA I have to say, but the game is also significantly more demanding IMO (effing micromanagement). What's Heroes of Newerth like? I've heard that it's supposedly 'harder' than DotA (which in turn is supposedly harder than LoL because of denying and stuff). And yeah, gaming serves as good relaxing technique. shellziess
I did not play any games while i was in the IB, but i was never into video games. Used to watch a lot of netflix but that stopped a month or 2 before exams. Reply
penguins
ok then my question is to the ones who do play games as I do when and how frequently do you guys play games, before or after study or just whenever you feel like it ( I play Overwatch if I ever play games ) Reply
Guest
I played Overwatch almost every day of grade 12. The few weeks before my mock exams, I played Witcher 3 like 5 hours a day each day when I wasn't studying. In hindsight, that was a pretty dumb move. captain teemo on duty
league is probably the most toxic game ever though 1 Reply
IB_taking_over
I played video games during IB but I had to severely reduce the number of hours. Typically I didn't spend more than a couple hours on the weekend. Reply
hobigrail
i don't personally play video games myself but there's a ton of guys in my cohort who do and to be honest? they are hardly doing well. one of my friends spent the day before his english IOP just gaming all night and barely passed it. if anything, i would say gaming is fine as long as you don't begin to prioritize it over your academics. Lord of the Pickles
Yeah, I admit to playing a lot of games, especially during September and October. I even downloaded pacman on my TI-84 calculator lol. I didn't let it affect my studying though. 1 Reply
