timmy Lily
Does anyone know a method to manually, not automatically, find the critical values for the Mann-Whitney-U-Test-calculation? Does anyone know which hypothesis the IAs are conducted with? Are they one-tailed or two-tailed hypothesis? Is it required to include how the critical values were acquired in the IA for Psychology Higher Level? If so, should the method of the acquistion of the critical values be included in the appendix with the calculations of Mann-Whitney-U-test or the results-section? When I calculated the Mann-Whitney-U-Test on the wepage www.vassarstats.net I got the critical value of the upper limit and lower limit to be 38 and 19 respectively for 0.05. However, when I looked for this critical values on the table on this link ( http://www.machinelearning.ru/wiki/images/3/3b/Critical_Values_for_the_Mann-Whitney_U-Test.pdf ) and both n1 and n2 are 7, I got 8 as the critical value.
