KPK
Hi All, I am doing my Psychology IA on Loftus & Palmer. But, my results are opposite of the actual study. What should I do now? If I am to use my current results (which is opposite of Loftus & Palmer), do I have to mention studies done to support the opposite? I could not find any studies which shows the opposite. Thanks a lot. Reply

Thanks a lot. Hi!For my Psych IA the same thing happened. My data had no obvious trend, and anything you assumed from it directly contradicted the results of the original experiment. I was told that, if the results don't match, to just include in your discussion section potential confounding variables that may have resulted in your different results. You don't need to mention any other experiments that support your data, just reflect on what you could have done differently in your experiment. Don't worry if your results are different, it just gives you more to reflect on and more chances to show a depth of knowledge in your write up Hope this helped! 1 Reply
ls78
My IA is a replication of Loftus and Palmer as well, and my results opposed the actual study too. My psychology teacher said that it was absolutely fine, and that it gives me good discussion points. Reply
