I'd say articles that include a product with a negative externality.

For example, the "government is raising the tax on fuel because scientisits have found the fumes are causing record high pollution and they drive youth to antisocial criminal behaviour".

With an article like this you can talk about negative externalities caused by consumption of the good, it's effect on society and shareholders, elasticity, whether or not the tax/ policy would be effective, and suggest a more effective approach.

Or ones about price floors (except for minimum wage as it most probably falls into macro). Price floor policies tend to be tied to negative externalities so the content would be similar.

Google news search microeconomics key words to get your article, avoid blogs and editorials or articles that have done the analysis work for you.

For Microeconomics, I would suggest starting off with an article related to demand and supply. You could then further this by whether there is an excess demand/supply, externalities, and/or comment on the factors of production. There tonnes of news articles on New York Times or the Guardian about food and technology :)

A simple way to get started is to simply Google news articles with keywords such as "shortage", "surplus" etc. to get articles suitable to do a commentary on. Remember to find one with proposed solutions while also giving enough space for synthesis and evaluation of the solutions stated and also some solutions of your own.
