Hey guys M&m_Fan99 (Thaddeus Peuterschmidt) back with another IB Survival forum post! So, today's QOTD (question of the day) is: "Is my school's uniform policy sexist?", if you couldn't tell from the title of this forum post. In the uniform policy, it is stated that girls are not allowed to have their skirts more than 10cm above their knees, but there are no rules about how high boys can wear their shorts. Many are outraged at this and is calling this inequality. So IB Survival forum viewers, what do you think? Do you think my school is being sexist? :ivan:

So, my teacher is not really great at giving us enough practice and does really teach well. But there are times where I do understand her but I don't really trust the way she teaches. I want to make sure that I do well in chem. And I don't know which resources to rely on for IB chem. SL. So if anyone would like to guide me through finding resources that will be of great use when I get stuck in Chem, that'd be great! Thanks

Hello, its Joanna and I was just wondering if anyone had any possible ideas for a mathematical internal assessment in the category dealing with dynamical systems specifically the fractal theory (like the Mandelbrot set). I found this as something that really fascinates me, however I am having trouble coming up with a research question that deals with this mathematics. Any ideas? I was also thinking about doing the chaos theory, dealing with dynamical systems.

So... TOK... We were told that we have to start thinking about our TOK presentations. And, to be honest, I'm lost. I don't know where to start from (It's because our school doesn't support us that much, we don't receive a lot of help from teachers, so basically we are lost, I don't know what to do...) So, to start with, what is this? hahaha, it sound like a stupid question, but I really don't know what are we supposed to do in a TOK presentation. I already have a group for the presentation, now what. How many areas of knowledge do we have to choose? How long does it have to be

I have to start doing my IOP and I get to choose from "Hamlet" by Shakespeare, "1984" by George Orwell and "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelly. I chose "Hamlet" and I was thinking about doing my topic on Horatio. The topic would be about what I think the sequel to "Hamlet" would be and what would happen in it. I want to make my presentation really interesting so any suggestions? Also, is my topic a valid one for the IOP?

Hey! I'm going to be starting the Pre-I.B French Immersion (grade 9) program this upcoming September, and I been trying to get a head start. I'm going to be doing a lot of reviewing and studying to help me prepare for pre-I.B! I was wondering if any of you can recall what you all learnt in grade 9 pre-I.B (english, science, french, math, etc...). I've tried researching the curriculum online, but I never get great results! Thank you so much! I really appreciate all your responses! - Girl Online

Hi, I am a Gr.11 IB Student in in Canada. I have never been really good at math, I barely got an 83% in Gr.10 HL math. For all my past tests, I have received nothing over a level 4. I work very hard and I don't miss any homework, I do all the adequate studying, but I still receive a 4. I recently got a 1 and 2 on my calculus and curve sketching tests, 2 tests which worked so hard for. I have a tutor, but it really does not help, because I can get help on the questions I want, but a tutor can't really teach me to be smart. I want to leave IB, but I really don't have any other friends in other

Hey guys! There are a lot of questions in here regarding the IB program and how it is like. Therefore we are going to make a youtube series on the topic, where we show exactly how it is like to be an IB student. We will go deeply into the topic. If you want to have an excuse for doing anything else than studying chemistry or economics this is probably the excuse you want! Please feel free to comment below and to tell us what you want us to make a video about! (Yeah I know that you are all sad and miserable and do not want to comment below or watch the video, but this forum is the only place

Also... if i do remark them, do they also remark IAs? Thanks!!

Hello everyone, I am currently starting my EE and have come up with some brief topics that interest me. I just want some feedback, suggestions and recommandations from you guys. Are you about to become an IB student or are you considering becoming one? Here is a preview of how IB can look from the inside (watch video). My IB group in Mexico made this video which shows how was IB for us from 2011 to 2013. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xy7f1tEF0zw We had a great experience. We became a really united group and we helped ourselves survive the hardest moments. We had fun too.

I'm organizing a "gift" for new IB students, I would like to give someting mininful, but funny. For example many people say that we dont sleep during the IB, so i planing of giving them one those stress balls in the shape of a Redbull. Stuff like that.... So if you were to make an IB survival Kit for a younger generation, what would you put in it??? Be as creative as you want =)
