Hey everyone! It's great to be part of a community with fellow IB experts! I'm relatively new to this platform so feel free to suggest any feedback or any tips to consider while contributing. I'm currently in year 12 (second year of IB). One of the subjects I have taken is Economics HL. The one thing I've noticed was how time consuming I along with a few friends of mine who took the same subject found in writing down definitions for every key term while answering paper 1 questions and considering the current situation of coronavirus, the importance of this in IAs. So, I've created a

Hi. So currently I need a study buddy. I will be graduating in 2020, therefore I am looking for someone who is graduating the same year. In my History HL course I have studied move to Global war (Japan, Italy and Germany), authoritarian leaders (Mao, Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini) and cold war. And I will be studying Castro +more next year (still unsure because we are changing teachers). Ideally I wish for a study buddy who have both subjects but it is okey either way. Ps;I would also happly join a study group who study one of the subjects or both.

Hey everyone, I'm an 11. grade IB student with higher level subjects English, Bio, and Music. I really don't know how to study Bio and Music, because I came late to this school year, which is the reason why I've some gaps. Because of that, I've to catch up about 1.5 semesters on my own and I really don't know how to do it. Is someone here who has the same HL subjects and can recommend some study books or some useful tips? Thank you for every useful answer!

I have been struggling with my Maths due to how I was changing schools twice before, in and out of different systems and I really need help with the syllabus now but also some of the basics from before. Does anyone know where perhaps online that I may get free tips or help on my maths?

As of right now I am still midway of MYP year 5 (which is the last year of MYP) and so for me, DP will still start next school year (summer of this year) but we did already choose our DP subjects. So as for my second language, I decided to choose French ab initio (which I have no prior knowledge on) and I kinda just wanted to start learning the language so I kinda get a head start and so it will make it a bit easier for me next year. Therefore, I just wanted to ask you guys how I should start studying French (e.g. do you recommend me to learn through language-learning platforms, through textbo

Hello, I'm half way through my first year in the DP and I'm still struggling to find an interesting topic for EE on English. I wanted to take a look at The Great Gatsby, The Yellow Wallpaper or The Lord of the Flies but my sister recommended me not to do so because these texts are studied throughout the years of IB and the markers would expect an exceptional outcome towards the essay; essentially making it a little difficult for me to ace. I'm currently reading about Burmese Days by George Orwell, it talks a lot about gender, race, culture, imperialism and etc. but I'm not too sure if I'l

Hello everyone, I am currently in my first year and I am taking IB Economics HL. Four weeks in, I have identified that I would like to work hard and get a 7 in this class. The way my teacher is teaching the class is for us to take notes of what is being explained during class, and then to read the textbook section of the same material, taking notes on that as well. Due to this I have put a line down every page in my notebook, with the left side for class notes and the right side for textbook notes. This leads to one of my questions: Should I compile these two sections of notes on my

Hey everyone, Hope you're doing well whether you just started your IB or are already getting closer to your mock exams. I'm trying to find out about how students study and what resources they use. It would be great if you guys could fill out this survey. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. Its all anonymous. https://goo.gl/forms/avRQe0DEHksywyWi1 Thanks

Hello everyone, I am currently in my fifth week of IB Year 1 and I have gotten settled with my new teachers and classes. I have set a goal for myself to get at least 40 points in the IB, but I do know that it will be tough and will require the right mentality (I'm working on it!). So, I wanted to come here and ask if any of you more experienced IB students had some advice or helpful tips for any of my subjects: IB Math HL IB Physics HL IB Economics HL IB Computer Science SL IB German B SL IB English Language and Literature SL Any help (inc

Hello, I'm new to this whole website so I'm not really sure how it works here. But anyways, I've got a question: What's the best way to practice analysing, comparing and contrasting two texts? Recently I realised that I have this issue with me where I'm not able to think quickly or make sense when I write on paper (my sentences are always jumbled up, disorganised). I perform great with assessment tasks but writing is a bit of difficulty. Conventionally, I use my laptop to write the answers to the questions then transfer it to my paper, however I won't be allowed to do this durin

Hello people, I know I will sound crazy/weird, but is it possible to self-study HL mathematics? My school does not teach the HL math, and so I am 'stuck' with SL. I really enjoy maths and I am quite pretty good at it. Also, I want to be a chemical engineer, so HL Chem, Phys, and Math are highly recommended. I am already doing HL Chem and Phys, which is satisfactory for most of the universities, but I really feel like I should also do HL Math. Thank you for your answers

Does anyone recommend or actually websites or apps to study for their exams? Ive looked into free things such as quizlet but am not sure how useful they actually are. And does anyone use paid things such as kognity? The price is quiet steep and Id like to know if its actually worth paying the money or simply studying the oldschool way. Thanks

Hey guys, I'm currently entering my second month of IB2 and during the past month, I have been finding that I have gradually been working less harder, and losing the "First-year" Enthusiasm that I always start off with. This has caused me to increase procrastinating and ending my study sessions earlier. I have looked through the web regarding ways to motivate yourself but it all just says that I have to remember the outcomes and all that. Was wondering if you guys had any pointers to help me out here. Thanks! Side Note: I work every single day of the week, but take a semi-day of

Hi there, I am in IB Y2 currently and I have a major problem with my German class. During the first year I had a German teacher who never had done IB before, was about to retire, and didn't prepare many materials for the class. We ended up doing 3 out of the 5 core topics, but not writing down or learning really anything throughout the year, except a lot of talking about it. Fast forward to this year and a new German teacher, and she tells me I am supposed to be on a C1/C2 (advanced/native speaker) Level but telling me I am at a B1/B2 (intermediate/upper intermediate) level cu

I'm taking the IB Math Studies test this May, and I've been reading about different ways to prepare. A lot of people have said they practice using past exams. Where can I find the past exams for this course; is there a special website? Thank you.
