Hello, I'm half way through my first year in the DP and I'm still struggling to find an interesting topic for EE on English. I wanted to take a look at The Great Gatsby, The Yellow Wallpaper or The Lord of the Flies but my sister recommended me not to do so because these texts are studied throughout the years of IB and the markers would expect an exceptional outcome towards the essay; essentially making it a little difficult for me to ace. So I'm doing my Extended Essay in Global Politics, because im genuinely interested in it and i take it at HL too. But, im kind of confused about which topic to pick. I was considering writing it about the rise of right wing populist parties in Germany, but my supervisor has asked me to come up with other topics too. I want to write my essay on something that is recent and relevant, or i'll lose interest. Any ideas?

Hey guys! I'm supposed to choose a topic for my EE now and I might need a bit of help. I want to do the essay in History as its one of my favourite topics and the teacher is great! My current idea for a topic would be the rise and outreach of the Italian mafia, with a question along the lines of "How did the Italian Mafia rise to acquire such power, and how far does it spread?". Hi, I'm in desperate need of help with my written task. I need to write my WT for part 1, and I've thought about pretending to be a politician and write a speech about animal rights, where I would try to use my language as effectively as possible to make the audience believe in me. Does this sound like an acceptable idea? We've had language and politics as a topic in class so I've therefore tried to connect it to that.

Hey fellow IB students, I need your help in EE topic. I'd like to write it in politics, but I only take global politics, so idk if the topics: "To what extent should the UN accept the The Declaration Of Animal Rights?" or "To what extent are there sufficient arguments for not granting fundamental legal rights to non-human animals by the UN?" would be ok? The title would probably be "The political debate over animal rights". I'd analyse the arguments for and against animal rights there. What do you think? Do you have any other idea? Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking of going with the research question: Why the Turkish government denies the Armenian genocide? (refuse to acknowledge its existence). But it's not exactly narrowed down or finalized, I need some suggestions on how to finalize it before I begin my actual essay. I can't figure out if it is an appropriate research question too, I've been through almost 5 different research questions and none seem to work. I'm starting to really overthink this please help.

hi guys, so i'm writing my extended essay in the area of psychology, but i really am more interested in politics (that's what i am going to college for) and i talked to my supervisor and she advised me to write about political psychology. i have a topic in mind and here it is: how can a politically driven psychological viewpoint influence the views on terrorism? the problem is, i don't know what to write on. it has to deal with psychology and modern politics, but i'm stuck. i could use a little help and i'd appreciate it greatly!!!

Can my EE be on current events if the subject area is global politics? I want to do the foreign policy of the United States toward Israel. However, my supervisor said it has to be an event that is at least 10 years old. I thought that rule was only for history. Thank you!

Hi all! I'm starting the IB next year and I need a little help choosing my subjects. For now, I have chosen HL English, History, and Lithuanian language. My SLs are Math Studies, Psychology, and Science. But I'm thinking about switching from Math St to Math SL even though I'm obviously going to buuuurn even in the SL Math classes. I'm really bad at math and honestly have no intention of doing anything math based in the future, because I want to go the law school (and as for studying law, I can get away with whatever the bare minimum of math study necessary to get my pre-law education over

I would like my EE topic to be about theoretically implementing a Universal Basic Income in the United States. Hello, could you help me with my RQ? I decided to write about ritual slaughter (halal and kosher) in Poland, most likely. My RQ is now "Should the ritual slaughter be banned in Poland?" I know the question isn't very well formulated. Perhaps it would sound better with "To what extent.." rather than "should"? Or do you have any other ideas? Also, do you think it's narrow enough? I suppose it would be better to add some more details, right? Like, "religious freedom before or after animal rights?" Do you have ANY advices? Any feedback is appreciated.
