Hello, I hope you are doing well. I need to do my Math SL IA on SIR model. (Simulation of pandemics) There is a hypothetical and isolated country with 10 million people. Then, there are 10 immigrants who entered this country and 5 of them are infected. R0 is 3, and I am varying the immunity rate. My research question is how does the immunity rate affect the spread of the virus? I am having difficulties in simulating a mathematical function which will simulate the behaviour of this case with SIR model. Could somebody please he
I'm thinking of doing my ESS Internal Assessment on the Lotka-Volterra Model. It is a set of differential equations which help calculate some variables in prey predator relationships. But I'M not quite what I could do since only explaining the equations and the model using graphs and stuff would probably not be enough for a high score. What else can I do about this topic?
I've introduced my topic showing personal engagement, however I'm really stuck on how to approach the mathematics. I was planning on using geometric sequences to create a model, but how do I even go about doing this. Would this even be sufficient mathematics for SL? Should I first investigate something such as profit and loss and then use those findings to create an ideal model? I really appreciate your inputs on this, thanks!
