I'm currently working on modelling COVID deaths within a certain period of time. The scatter plot my data generated looks like a bell curve, but it isn't a normal function (image attached below). I need to know the general template for this graph so I can finish my IA. thank youuu

Hey does anyone have any ideas on what I can do my math ia on? I take Math A&I. I have to do an ia this year and I have no idea what I can do a math ia on.

i’m starting my maths IA and my proposal is due tmr, im in AI SL and so far i’ve thought about doing somthing gymnastics related, analysing the data and maybe finding a trend between height and how good u score… somthing like that maybe?? i don’t know tho, i asked my teacher and she said that is very simple (it is i know) and that i would need to go deeper or develop my idea better in order to score well. i’m also not sure what area to do it, probability idk etc. also i kinda want to change my IA to somthing anime related ?? any ideas ? helpppop

Hello, I want to do my maths IA on astronomy, but I don't really know where to start. My initial idea was to predict the distance between earth and three other stars as well as how much time would I loose on earth if I visited each star and came back, although my teacher said that's too advanced and something I'd do in university not now. So he suggested that I'd do something related to old nautical instruments of navigation (eg: astrolabe); he thought I could understand how these work and how unreliable they were, but I'm not very interested in that. I really want to do something related

Hi everyone. I'm having a little trouble with my Math IA., I would like to do the topic "The Mathematics behind Medical Testing", where I would speak about false positives / false negatives and the probability of getting them. However, I don't know where to get data from. Am I supposed to make up a hypothetical situation / disease and then make fake numbers for it ? Is that even allowed..? I would be using conditional probability to find the probability of a student testing positive for the XYZ disease, actually having the disease. I would be using the conditional probability

Hi, I want to do my Internal Assessment using more dimensions than 3. However, I don't know exactly what I could/should do. I saw someone solving the "Wolf, goat, cabbage" problem using 3d geometry, and wanted to try to solve the "River crossing puzzle" using the same idea. I believe it would require 6 dimensions, and I would use matrixes to represent it. My teacher said she couldn't predict if it would turn out good or not. I don't know if it's too simple or too complicated. I still really like this topic, and if this is not possible, I would probably do something with a hypercube

Hello, I'm in my second year of the IB, and we have to start defining our theme for the mathematical exploration. I don't know exactly what do we have to do, I know we have to relate it to numbers or stadistics. And as the teacher said we could choose a topic of our preference, I was thinking if there was a suitable Theme in the area of biology or architechture, perhaps chemistry.
